Billie Monster on Etsy 12.01.2010
People have been asking me for months now when my Etsy shop is going to be online and my one and only answer has always been...soon. I think soon has come and gone, maybe even twice by now. Time to get my act together before people stop asking all together! Don't lose faith in me people. :O)
So, today I made my very first listing on Etsy - wewts! I'm not gonna lie, it's a private listing for someone who had previously asked to purchase the necklace... so maybe in a way... it's sort of cheating and not REALLY a first listing. Or maybe it is?! Either way, I have my foot in the door now and I hope to continue photographing the rest of the jewelry and things I have made and put them up on Etsy for sale. Who knows if anyone will buy the stuff I've made *crosses fingers* but we shall see.
And a big monster thanks to Bella, who is always up to something, for being my first Etsy customer! I hope she enjoys the 'lil owl necklace as much as I do.
For those who are not so familiar with Etsy, make sure you head over there and learn all about them. Etsy's mission is to to enable people to earn a living making things, and to reconnect makers with buyers - something a lot less common these days. Their vision is to build a new economy and present a better choice. It's basically a community of sellers and buyers from across the globe all with a passion for the handmade. Awesome! I know! Even if you don't enjoy making things yourself you definitely should be checking the site out for one-of-a-kind items you'll never find anywhere else.
So, check into Billie Monster on Etsy every now and then. You might find something you like. And if not, maybe something that inspires you.

I've wanted to start an etsy for a while now :) I love etsy! I actually have a section in my sidebar called etsys I like where I link up my favorites. Your owl necklace is adorable, too bad it's already been sold. (well, for me, not for you, lol) Thanks for all your comments! I realized that I usually comment back on my posts, but it occurred to me that the people who are commenting probably don't look there. That's ok, because I don't mind making the short trip over to your blog :) there's always something pretty to look at. I really like those flowers a few posts down!
