Make an owl stuffie! (so cute!) 04.06.2011
I love owls. Did I mention how stinkin' cute they are? I've been noticing owls of all shapes and sizes snuggling their way into the hearts of many crafty bloggers lately - they're all over the place. Recently, I came across this owl stuffie tutorial from Ruth at Hammer & Thread and I knew I had to try and make him. So I did! Lookit' those big eyes!
I've been wanting to make a stuffie/softie for quite a while now, but was too intimidated to try. My sewing skills aren't exactly pro, however I found him fairly easy to make. I might even say I had a hoot doing it! (had to). Some parts were definitely tricky; I had a lot of issues pinning and sewing the curves of the backside and tail together, but it came together eventually. There was accidental puckering involved, which looks mostly on purpose. :OP
In the end I was surprised how well he turned out. A big monster thanks to Ruth for the pattern. If you want to make him too, go grab the printable pattern here.
